Assignments

The system provides the capability of automatic facilities assignments for service orders. The user can override the automatic assignments if necessary. The assignment algorithms attempt to make all of the facility assignments associated with the service. Service orders which cannot be completely assigned are routed to the appropriate assignment management areas within the application for corrective action.

Analysis can then be done on the failed assignment and necessary action can be taken to make the required facilities available for completion of the assignment. The system tracks and updates the status of partially assigned orders as the network facilities are made available for assignment. The system provides primary and secondary terminal preferences for service locations with both electronic and copper terminals. The assignment algorithm for line terminating equipment will balance the line terminating equipment across digital switch line bays.
