Wiring Limits and Service Addresses

Circuit Conditioning

Circuits which exceed acceptable loop loss limits require additional treatment to bring the characteristics of the circuit into a normal range. The user can identify the equipment or processes used to condition the circuit. The use of voice frequency repeaters, loop extenders, bridge lifters, and removing bridge tap are typical ways of conditioning a circuit. Bridge tap removal is generally associated with the conditioning of special circuits. The system provides reporting when a special circuit is disconnected to review whether the cut dead pair needs to be re-spliced.

Addresses

Addresses are entered into the system through an interface with an existing service order system or through manual entry. In situations where standard addresses do not exist, a dwelling record tag ID can be entered into the system. The address or dwelling tag ID is associated with the serving terminal or pedestal to establish the network access point for the serving address.
